What to expect at Create, Discover, Explore!

Depending on weather, most of Create, Discover, Explore will be held outside. We will begin the day with a song or game followed by a rough schedule of events. I believe in flexibility, so each day we will have games, an art project, and of course go exploring in the woods.

We will have lunch time every day at noon followed by an art project that relates to the camp's theme. For example, at Medieval Merrymakers we will work together to make a paper tapestry, Nature Discoverers will make masks of forest critters and Get Creative will make musical instruments, play with clay, and finger paint! This is just to name a few.

Each afternoon will be slightly different depending on the activities for that day. We will play at least one high energy game, go exploring, and at the end of the day, we will have a pow wow and each say one thing we learned today. Then we will help clean up as parents arrive.

My Favorite Activities for This Year:

I am SO excited for camp this year. Here are some of my favorite activities coming up!

In Medieval Merrymakers, we are going to make puppets to put on a puppet show, make a tapestry that tells a story, do archery, and if the weather is bad, decorate the barn like a castle! One of my favorite things about the middle ages is that people still believed in miracles and magic, so we are also going to make fairy houses, build forts, and go on quests in the woods.

For Get Creative, we are going to paint faces, play with clay, build forts, make musical instruments - and play them! I love music and art, and I am so excited to spend the week being creative! We will also play games, help collect eggs, and get creative in the woods.

Nature Discoverers will be all about the natural world around us. We will do fun science experiments, learn about nature, make animal masks, dream-catchers, do archery, build forts, and go exploring in the wilderness of Summer Winds! We will also learn fun survival skills, sing songs, and play fun games all week.

I hope this answers any questions about what is planned for camp this week! I cannot wait for summer.
